Treemap
A treemap encodes data using size and color and is useful for hierarchical data. It allows comparison on a measure over one hierarchy, coloring can be grouped by another hierarchy.
Characteristics:
- Good for a limited number of values (<20)
- Good for filtering
Sunburst
Characteristics:
- Comparison on 1 measure over multiple leveled hierarchies
- Good for filtering
- Make sure to have abbreviations to allow offline value
Circle Pack diagram
Characteristics:
- Comparison on 1 measure over multiple leveled hierarchies
- The order in which the levels are selected is important
- Good for filtering
- Only online as interactivity is required
